The Way to Protect Your Family From Theft
Vandals have mindlessly triggered £2,000 of harm by destroying about 20 road signals in Harpenden.
Targeted road name plates comprise Tuffnells Way, Townsend Lane and Roundwood Lane.
Even the thugs snapped the wooden-backing before bending the metal name out of shape and discarding the debris nearby.
Portfolio holder for both business and the area, Cllr Beric Read, stated: “we would like to catch the people responsible with this spate of criminal damage and put a stop to it.
“It is a anti-social crime that costs council taxpayers money and can be of terrific annoyance to the occupants of the affected regions. I urge people to help the authorities with their questions. ”
The district council is going to need to fork out the cash for repairs.
St Albans Ch Insp Shane O’Neill stated: &ldquoWe are exploring criminal damage to numerous road name signs in Harpenden.
“If anybody has any information about who could be responsible or has any footage of the individuals carrying out the offender harm, we’d like to hear from you.
“This kind of behavior will not be tolerated. Together, we can help make Harpenden a place. ”
Anybody with information should call police.
