2015 Laureus World Cup
Benedict Cumberbatch will host the 2018 Laureus World Sports Awards in Monaco on February 27, honoring athletes in sports around the globe for their achievements that are enormous. This is going to be the next time the “Sherlock” star has hosted the famed award series, formerly hosting the 2014 Awards at Kuala Lumpur and the 2015 Ceremony at Shanghai.
Benedict, who’s best known for his characters as Sherlock Holmes in “Sherlock,” playing Allan Turing at “The Imitation Game” and at the Academy Award-winning “12 Year’s Slave,” is anticipated to bring his comedy and comedy to the point to honor the athletes.
This season, Cristiano Ronaldo, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Lewis Hamilton, Mo Farah and Chris Froome will face off for Sportsman of the Year. The Sportswoman of the Year category is packed together with Katie Ledecky, Allyson Felix and Mikaela Shiffrin shortlisted in a season in which US sports has obtained a 12 nominations following a ballot by the world’s media, with Americans.
The Golden State Warriors and New England Patriots are nominated for the Laureus Team of the Year Award, while star Nyjah Huston along with world champion John John Florence have been nominated at the Laureus Action Sportsperson of the Year group.
Although Justin Gatlin is among the six nominees for Laureus Comeback of the Year by winning seven gold medals from the World Championship, swimmer Caeleb Dressel, who matched Michael Phelps, is nominated for Laureus Breakthrough of the Year.
The winners are voted by members of the Laureus World Sports Academy, will be shown on February 27, with the support of Benedict.
